Position Title: 1.0 Math Teaching Assistant
Brief Description: This position will provide support to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students with varying
needs and abilities in mathematics. This will require collaboration with math
teachers to assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and effective math lessons
that align with an anti-racist and culturally responsive pedagogy. This position will
focus on 8th grade students in Math 8 or Algebra, ensuring they have a solid
foundation in the required content areas and are prepared for the New York State
Algebra Regents exam.
Key responsibilities include:
? Provide targeted intervention and remediation for struggling students, helping them
develop the necessary skills to succeed in mathematics.
? Monitor student progress and behavior, providing constructive feedback and
encouragement to foster academic growth and a positive classroom environment.
? Assist in the development and administration of assessments to evaluate student
understanding and progress, documenting and maintaining accurate records of

Required Qualifications:

Possession of New York State Teaching Assistant or Teacher certification is required

Minimum 60 college credits

Minimum Salary: $17.68 per hour base with additional rate based on relevant experience
