Position Title: Assistant School Lunch Cook 10 months - Internal Only
Brief Description: Work involves leadership skills in using leftovers in the economical preparation and cooking of healthful and palatable food for school meal programs. Work includes following recipes, awareness of food allergies and cross contamination, food service sanitation and State and local health inventory and controls. Must be able to stand for long hours and must be independent. Individual must be a team player and perform a variety of duties as required or directed. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions as necessary for recipe production, portion control and record keeping. Hours can vary based on needs. Must have one year of full-time paid experience, or its part-time or volunteer equivalent, in large-scale food preparation.

Must be eligible for appointment as an Assistant Cook by Civil Service
Civil Service Requirements:
- Full working knowledge of large-scale food preparation; working knowledge of sanitary procedures in food preparation; working knowledge of methods and equipment used in large-scale food preparation; working knowledge of the proper use of cleaning supplies; working knowledge of basic arithmetic; ability to follow simple oral and written instructions; neatness; cleanliness; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
