Brief Description:  We are seeking an exceptional World Language Teacher to join our dynamic team. LACS is a unique 6-12 democratic school, where all members of the school community (students, staff and families) are involved in decision making. Teachers infuse subject matter they are passionate about and students work to solve authentic problems.   Students demonstrate understanding through portfolios and Performance Based Assessment Tasks (an alternative to the NYS Regents exams). Position Title: Speech Language Pathologist Pre-K

Brief Description: Join our early childhood education team to provide speech-language services in an inclusive classroom setting. Work with a variety of preschool students, including those who use augmentative and alternative communication aids and devices. Other duties include, but are not limited to, CPSE documentation, IEP development, evaluations, collaboration with building/department leadership, educators, and caregivers. The speech-language therapist will provide an inclusive approach to speech and language acquisition and development for students by providing direct therapy, consultation services, and speech improvement sessions to enable all children to access and progress in the general education curriculum. Ideal candidates will show experience with diverse cultures, anti-racist approaches to the particular work of a speech therapist, and a commitment to working with the school community towards the success of all students. Position Title: School Psychologist

Brief Description: The school psychologist is an integral member of the school community, grade level teams, RtI/support teams, crisis teams, and the CSE process.  Working in cooperation with building leadership, educators, parents, and students, the school psychologist will provide an inclusive approach to social-emotional skill development for students by providing direct therapy, consultation services, and curriculum support to enable all children to access and progress in general education.  The duties involve team communication, student and family advocacy, counseling, crisis support, as well as administering assessments with children and interpreting those with their families and school staff.  Ideal candidates will show experience with diverse cultures, anti-racist approaches to the particular work of a psychologist, and a commitment to working with the school community towards the success of all students.

Position Title: Elementary Physical Education Teacher (PE) - Long Term Substitute

Brief Description:  This position reports to the Building Principal and the Director of Physical Education and Health. The Physical Education Teacher will develop an exercise philosophy that strives to engage all students, support the New York State Health standards through engaging, informed, and timely instruction. ICSD supports the health education standards and the importance of health topics, physical and mental well-being.

Position Title: Occupational Therapist

Brief Description: The occupational therapist is an integral member of the school community, grade level teams, RtI/support teams, crisis teams, and the CSE process.  Working in cooperation with building leadership, educators, parents, and students, the occupational therapist will provide an inclusive approach to motor and sensory-motor for students by providing direct therapy and consultation services to enable all children to access and progress in the general education curriculum.  Ideal candidates will show experience with diverse cultures, anti-racist approaches to the particular work of an occupational therapist, and a commitment to working with the school community towards the success of all students.
